Summer fun on a budget

The month of March marks the beginning of summer here in the Philippines. Happy are those who are studying because it means the school year will soon come to an end. Happy are those who are working as they look forward to long weekend for that much awaited rest and hopefully stress-free days. Happy are those who are blessed with an opportunity to enjoy summer getaway especially that Holy Week is fast approaching.

This post is dedicated to our dear minimum to middle wage earners or budget-conscious readers who want to make the most of summer without hurting their pockets. Below is the list of resorts nearby that I have been to and wishes to be in for its good amenities at an affordable cost. As I keep mentioning in my previous posts, check for promo codes and/or vouchers in the internet for some great deals you can grab on.

1. Watercamp Resort in Kawit, Cavite. Too bad we went there on Easter Sunday. We arrived at 7 o’clock in the morning but the place was already overcrowded. Since we have no prior reservation, we only got 2 tables enough to put our food and personal stuff. The space we occupied was not fully secured so someone has to stay on guard. And the bathroom… (Deep sigh!😣)What an inconvenience! It’s my first time to “host” an outing for my family hence, the blunder. The resort is jam-packed, and it’s because the place looks nice for the kind of budget that you have. I think it would be better to go there before or after Holy Week to maximize everything that the resort has to offer. To completely seize the day, take a side trip. Visit the Shrine of Emilio Aguinaldo and look down the memory lane. Visit their website for more information. Click here.

2. Amana Waterpark in Pandi, Bulacan. Well, I learned my lesson. I made prior reservation in one of their rooms with a bed, A/C, t. v. and bathroom. It’s like having our own private space which I’m sure my family is delighted about. The staff is very easy to deal with and accommodated our requests. Added appeal in this resort is the life-sized anime and other t. v. & movie characters that can be seen around the area where the guests can enjoy and take pictures with. There is also a short program held by a group of individuals wearing marvel superhero costumes. Visit their website for more information. Click here.

3. Splash Island in Binan, Laguna. This one is my least favorite. I’ve been here several times since my college days and noticed little to no improvement that will attract more guests. The slides are their main attraction and something to brag about. I enjoyed it a lot except for the looooong line waiting for some action. However, if you have fear of heights, this resort is not for you. Visit their Facebook page for more information. Click here.

4. Aquaria Water Park in Calatagan, Batangas. I come across this resort while browsing over the internet. It looks very nice in the pictures and with pool and beach combined, the price is surprisingly affordable. I think this one is a steal! I look forward to adding it up in my list. If you have any suggestion on where else to go, feel free to leave a comment. I would love to bring my family there.

Thanks in advance. 😊
